Recommended Reading for Catholic Adults

Apologetics: For a great introduction into Catholic apologetics, consider reading Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic by David B. Currie.

Conversion stories are also an excellent way to learn about our faith and impart a sense of zeal and love for the Catholic Church. Crossing the Tiber by Stephen Ray, Rome Sweet Home by Dr. Scott Hahn, Surprised by Truth by Patrick Madrid, and My Life on the Rock by Jeff Cavins are highly recommended.

Biographies of the saints as well as the actual writings of saints are a must. Great saints to begin with include St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. John of the Cross, St. John Vianney (also known as the Cure of Ars), St. Teresa of Avila, St. Catherine of Siena, and Blessed Mother Teresa.

Other exceptional books worth reading are: Left to Tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza, The Hawk and the Dove Trilogy by Penelope Wilcox is wonderful fiction, anything written by G. K. Chesterton, Matthew Kelly's Rediscover Catholicism, Theology of the Body for Beginners by Christopher West, and all papal encyclicals.
